Vroom!

I love making things, but If I'm being completely honest here, I don't love to sew. I've found the ultimate solution...Heat n' Bond baby! I've made two of these so far for birthday gifts and have plans for two more. So much fun to make.

You'll need a package of Heat n' Bond (under $2 at Walmart) T-shirt (2 for $10 Old Navy, add $10 coupon Cha-ching!) Material for the truck (dig around in that fabric stash) Some thin flexible interfacing is perfect for tracing a pattern with one of the kids washable markers. and some tools, Iron, scissors, pins.I used one of Luke's T-shirts that already had a picture of a truck I liked as a template and just traced over it with a washable marker onto some interfacing I had laying around.

cut out rough shapes of your material just big enough for your pattern pieces

Now here's where the Heat n' Bond comes in.

Cut the heat n' bond to exactly match your pieces of fabric. Any hang over will mean disaster for your ironing board ( I learned this the hard way)

now fuse the heat n' bond to your fabric (med heat, no steam, 8 seconds)

Pin your pattern pieces in place and cut them out

I used pinking shears for the wheels.

Now just peel the paper backing,

and iron to fuse fabric to your t-shirt, one piece at a time.

and voila, Happy 5th Birthday Alex!
